Happy Birthday USA! Hope we have many more. Jim and I are
celebrating this 4th in Canada on Lake Huron in Georgian Bay, and to make it even more memorable we are on the hook. That means anchored in a secluded bay. It is beautiful, quiet, and calm. This is the first day in two weeks that we had a blue sky all day, didn't put
on our rain gear, and the wind didn't try to blow us off the water.
Now that is a birthday present worth celebrating. Our crew left this
morning and we pulled out if the marina on a quest to find a place to drop our hook. Once we were pretty certain that the anchor was holding we went out in the dinghy. Jim found a spot that he felt was good for catching fish, he made a cast and caught a Small Mouth Bass on the first attempt. Pretty impressive. He even had one try to bite his lure out of the water. I know that sounds questionable, but I was there and saw it. So it is verified. After
that we headed back to the boat. He doesn't have a Canadian license yet, so he had to quit playing. We are surprised that we have not seen any kind of wildlife except so water birds. With nothing With nothing else to do he started washing the bottom of the boat.
The water is COLD, but he got it done.
We plan to keep anchoring out this week until
Amanda and the kids get here on the 10th. We will then start north
in Georgian Bay to the North Channel. Sure hope the weather holds. Out in the wilds of Canada, Internet connections are extremely slooooooow. My pictures just will not download and my battery isn't strong enough to last. You will just have to use your imagination to see our calm little harbour, or google.
