We are still in Parry Sound, Ontario. Last night was a very exciting and scary evening. The day was beautiful, warm and sunny with
very little wind. In fact it was so warm we decided to turn on the air conditioner. After about 5 minutes it shut off. That was not a good sign. After much discussion by Jim it was determined that the water pump was not working. He then started fixing it by practically standing on his head for a couple of hours. While he was working I noticed the big black cloud building up on the horizon. I took it upon myself to shut the windows and y the time I finished the wind began to blow and we were in the middle of a storm that was as powerful as a hurricane. The sky was full of lighting, it was like a strobe light. The rain was coming at the boat
sideways in sheets. Jim went out to take down the sunshades and was instantly drenched. It began to hail sideways and came into the boat through the places we didn't think water could come. The whole pilot house was soaked. After a long 10 minutes it stopped as quickly as it started. Then we discovered that the power at the marina was out,and then the ramp that connected the dock to the shore had broken and washed a way.We were stuck at the dock.
This morning Jim had to put down the dinghy to go talk to the dock master.
We then moved to another dock where hopefully we will be for the next 2 days. All in all it was a night that we don't care to repeat. I sure don't want to be anchored in a storm. I guess that is a good reason to go to marinas. Off to Toronto tomorrow.
